Gahanna Moose Lodge # 2463

Last Friday night (2/13) we ended up visiting the Gahanna Moose Lodge at the last minute.  Particularly because of the massive amounts of people at Adobe Gilas in Easton.

Once we got over the initial thought that the Gahanna Moose was once a Funeral Home, we found ourselves having a great time.  The patrons that were there on Friday night were having a lot of fun and made us feel welcome.  We really didn't spend a whole lot of time scoping out the place for items that we normally look for but we did make a few observations:

- Friday night was FREE JUKEBOX NIGHT!!!
- Dinner specials most nights of the week.
- Two pool tables in the back room behind the bar.
- I think there was a Wii there somewhere?????

Overall, I think it was a very successful trip to Gahanna, I'm looking forward to going back soon.

Only one downside..... Gahanna Moose, where is your popcorn machine???!!!???

A Change in ideas

Well, we have all been talking and after some lengthy debate, we have decided to remove the official Moose Hunter antler ratings.  We just feel that it is better for public relations.  We will continue to be providing our experiences on this blog, however we will not longer end each post with a ranking.  Every Moose Lodge that we've been to thus far has been wonderful and to try and give one a higher "ranking" then another would be impossible and unfair to the Moose Lodge.

Marysville Moose Lodge #1651

Our second and final stop on the night of January 31st was the the Marysville Moose Lodge #1651 just outside of downtown Marysville Ohio.  The Marysville Lodge made a strong come back at the end of our visit.  At first we felt out of place and not welcomed.  However, by the end of the evening, we started to feel much more comfortable.  The Marysville Lodge scored very high points in the activities section, cheap pool (only a quarter a game) and shuffleboard providing a lot of fun for us.  The cost of drinks were very cheap, the best we've found thus far.  While we had already ate dinner at the Delaware Lodge, it appeared that the Marysville Lodge had full kitchen and menu available on most nights, this scored very high for us (we'll be back for food some night!).

Overall, the trip to Marysville was an average experience, but one that we would want to do again.

Hope to see everyone in Marysville again.

Delaware Moose Lodge #1167

Our first stop on the evening on January 31st was to the Delaware Moose Lodge #1167 in downtown Delaware Ohio.  The overall consensus was positive for the Lodge.  They were having a t-bone steak special and cheeseburgers and fries.  The food was fantastic, popcorn was free and fresh.  Drinks were more then reasonably priced and the people were friendly.  The Delaware Moose Lodge scored high rankings on our special category of Moose Pride, well done Delaware!

Thanks to everyone at the Delaware Lodge, hope to see you again soon!

Here we go

As I mentioned in last nights post, we began the Moose Hunting expedition.  I will be providing feedback from our experiences at each individual lodge.  The rankings will be given a 1 through 5 antler ranking, with 5 antlers being the ultimate and 1 antler being low.  Some of the factors that we were looking at were:

-Friendliness, Activities, Popcorn, Kitchen, Cost of Drinks, Selection of Drinks, Cleanliness and overall level of Moose Pride.

Now for obvious reasons we will not be providing a detailed antler ranking for all of the above categories, but the average of the above will provide us with the overall antler rating.

Hope you enjoy!
